Eugene, Oregon - Medic First Aid's Conference 2003 will introduce new facilitator training methodologies, updated marketing information and techniques, and new directions in first aid and safety training. The conference will be held October 15-18 at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower in Portland, Oregon, the City of Roses.
Renowned infection control expert, Katherine West headlines the diverse collection of industry experts who will present at the conference. As conference keynote speaker, Ms. West will discuss emerging concepts in infection control and compliance, including SARS and anthrax threat assessment, disease control measures, and will clarify OSHA training requirements and the citation and fine process. She is the author of several books on emergency care and infection control and a faculty member of The George Washington University's School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
With an emphasis on facilitator cross-training and future directions, several training courses will be offered at Conference 2003. The international assembly of facilitators will be able to choose from several pre-conference training sessions. These courses include training in Basic Life Support for Professionals®, Advanced First Aid Supplement, and an opportunity for current instructors to "Upgrade to Trainer."
Other featured activities include Facilitator Training in AEDs, Emergency Oxygen, and Infant/Child CPR. "AEDs: The Total Solution," a joint presentation from Philips Medical Systems and Medic First Aid, will close the conference on Saturday, October 18. This three-hour workshop will provide training on a range of Philips defibrillators, as well as marketing and sales tips providing the Total Solution in early defibrillation.
