Eugene, Oregon) - MEDIC FIRST AID releases Emergency Care, its new training supplement targeting individuals and corporations that require training in basic first aid skills. MEDIC FIRST AID Emergency Care training program is designed to teach first aid so students will know how to manage illnesses and injuries until the arrival of EMS.
Topics include: Initial Assessment, Bleeding, Shock Management, Warning Signs of Medical Illness, Mechanism of Injury, Managing Specific First Aid Problems, Physical Assessment, Patient History, and Emergency Moves. New scenario-based segments and student practice sessions for Physical Assessment and Patient History are being included and will assist the student in observing for warning signs of illness and injury. Instructors can include additional segments on first aid topics specific to the environment or needs of students.
The course is designed to complement training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in order to meet the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for first aid training in the workplace. The minimum time to complete the course is 2-3 hours with additional time needed to review any specific first aid topics.
