After Shock Videos Donated to Those Affected by Terrorism

September 22, 2001: For immediate release

(Eugene, Ore.) - MEDIC FIRST AID Foundation, part of EMP International, is donating 1,000 each of two safety videos to New York City and Washington DC citizens affected by last week's terrorist actions.

The staff at EMP International offers their condolences to all those affected by the terrorists' attacks in New York and Washington, D.C.

One of the videos, After Shock, addresses the reactions witnesses and lay rescuers may have to traumatic events. The video suggests actions to take. MEDIC FIRST AID has recorded a new opening to After Shock to speak to the recipients of this special edition. The tape will be given to four groups: schools, churches, NYC fire department, and NYC police department. One hundred more copies will go to the Pentagon.

EMP International trainers from around the world have contributed to this effort. The donors include EMP Japan, EMP Canada, EMP United Kingdom, EMP Greece, and EMP New Zealand.

The second donation of 1,000 videos goes to children in NYC and DC. "Be Cool, Play It Safe!" is an award-winning children's video full of safety tips. Gracie the dog, cartoon images, and three actors help children understand how to be safer at home, on the water, riding a bike, etc. While the safety lessons do not mitigate the horror of terrorism, they can help children feel more control over their environments. Be Cool, Play It Safe! will be distributed to elementary school children.

MEDIC FIRST AID Foundation makes donations and creates programs and products that complement the mission of EMP International, Inc., the parent organization of the MEDIC FIRST AID Family of Programs.
