April 20, 2001: For immediate release
MEDIC FIRST AID/EMP America, the pioneer of video use in
first aid and CPR training, is set to release its newest
version of the popular MEDIC FIRST AID (MFA) Basic training
program on May 15, 2001. Version 5.0 includes the recently
updated CPR guidelines and features a number of functional
improvements. These include all new video scenarios; simplified,
yet more extensive, Facilitator and student materials; and
a high degree of flexibility that will allow an instructor
to tailor the program to fit student needs.
The new MEDIC FIRST AID Basic version includes an AED supplement
that will provide Facilitators with additional course options
to meet regulatory requirements for AEDs in the workplace
and in the general public. In addition, MEDIC FIRST AID
will release Version 5.0 in Spanish this summer. Updated
Oxygen and Infant/Child supplements are planned for the
fall.
Introduced in 1980, the MEDIC FIRST AID Basic training
program is now used in more than 80 countries worldwide
by corporations and independent trainers alike. Millions
of individuals have been trained using the program. History
has proven that MFA students consistently demonstrate an
extremely high level of willingness to respond in a medical
emergency.
Individuals wishing to become corporate or independent
instructors or trainers in the MEDIC FIRST AID Basic training
program can attend one of the two-day Facilitator training
courses offered throughout the year at its headquarters
in Eugene, Oregon, and at other locations around the country.
Instructors currently teaching for other organizations can
participate in a simple grandfathering process that will
allow them to teach MEDIC FIRST AID programs.
Current Mark III and Mark IV Facilitators can update by
purchasing a Version 5.0 Facilitator Update Kit. Once the
update process is completed, Basic, Version 5.0 videos may
be purchased at a reduced cost.
Those interested in purchasing or updating to MEDIC FIRST
AID Basic Version 5.0 are invited to contact MEDIC FIRST
