Over the past several weeks, EMP America's Development Team has been working on a Spanish translation for our Medic First Aid Basic program. Now that Basic, Version 5.0 is available to everyone, we are glad to announce that its Spanish version will be available November 1, 2001. Translator Armando Gutierrez and editor John Hensel have been working diligently in the editing room replacing the English audio tracks with newly recorded Spanish narration.
The most challenging part of the process is to make the narration fit into the video's talk-through sections. The Spanish language is approximately 50% longer than its English equivalent. In most cases it is possible to stretch the live action video rather than having to resort to freeze frames of shots. To ensure that our Spanish speaking clients receive a direct equivalent of the English version, we decided to leave the English audio in the live-action scenes and put Spanish sub-titles on the screen.
Please phone Client Services at 800.800.7099 for price and availability of this Spanish edition of the Basic Version 5.0 program.
